You'll be happy with your visit as long as you know what it is. Get you in get you out sit down Mexican food. That's all it wants to be, and it achieves that.
I don't need to go into dishes, you know what a menu at one of these looks like. Food came to the table hot but not like, bubbling hot, and that could use a little refinement as this stuff gets plated pretty quick. Food runners need to be a little quicker.
Final word is there's nothing that puts it above the other Mexican sit down places, but there's nothing that puts it below them either. It's cheap, service is attentive, you get what you expected to get. By no means a must visit but it knows what it is and does it correctly. -

Looking for a place mid-day on Sunday for a peaceful sit-down lunch out of the heat and we found it here at Azul. This was my first visit here and I found the atmosphere and the staff very pleasant. I tried the fajitas and although its probably difficult to mess this one up, it was tasty and plentiful. The sides were fresh as were the tortillas. The queso is always a favorite in my group, and we found it tasty and fairly priced. The street corn was off the cob, which is not a problem, but a little soupy and not very authentic.
Azul feels like a good addition to the options in Park Circle and I'm sure I'll visit again. It would be nice to see some authentic dishes added as daily specials. -

I came here for just drinks and a snack on a Thursday and sat at the bar and then came on Tuesday with some girl friends for dinner and sat in the dining room. Both times the restaurant wasn't too busy so the service was good. The prices are reasonable for what you get. The drinks are decent as well and the large margarita is worth it.
I love that you get chips and salsa right off the bat, but was sad to find they don't partake in America's favorite Taco Tuesday.
What we ate: snack round we got a chicken quesadilla.. while it was packed with chicken, it was not very large overall.
I got a grilled chicken burrito and all of the veggies come in it: peppers, onions, and mushrooms (I thought there was a veggie option along with chicken or steak and would have preferred it without the mushrooms, but they were big enough to pick out). The portion was decent and the flavor was just ok. My friend firs ordered the poblano enchiladas which came with mole sauce and she didn't like it and they happily exchanged it for just regular enchiladas that she said were good.
It's just mediocre Mexican food, I wish the margs were a little stronger and that they did specials..but they have good customer service so they earned the 4th star. -

I wanted to really like Azul but it was so mediocre. We went in for lunch and they were fairly busy, but we were able to get a table right away. The service was great and the drinks were prompt, but everything else was lacking.
The food was so plain. I ordered a smothered steak burrito and it had no flavor. There wasn't very much steak in it and I felt like I had more tortilla than anything. My rice wasn't even warm, it was fairly cold. It was also lacking flavor. Others at my table had the same issue with food temperature and flavor. The chips and salsa were really good, though.
For the cost, even with the lunch special pricing, I don't think it was really worth it. -

Azul is at a great location and has a beautiful atmosphere. I've been to the restaurant at least 4 times and the food just isn't great. It isn't very flavorful. The one dish though I would come back for is the molcajete. It is worth the price. The food is flavorful in this dish and the presentation is very nice. It comes in a pig molcajete which is a bowl used for grinding herbs etc. That meal can definitely be shared along with a pitcher of margaritas and you will be perfectly happy and satisfied for the evening.
